Position Description

Food Bank Assistants love, bless and assist Centre Street Church (CSC) neighbours in helping them with their food needs, in Jesus’ name. They also assemble and distribute the food hampers to those in need. CSC is a depot for the Calgary Food Bank.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up/taking down food bank area

• Assist in assembling and distributing food following prescribed processes

• Assist guests in checking in and loading hampers

• Be comfortable with the ebb and flow of distribution

• Help keep area clean and tidy

• Work in a team and advocate for one another

• Be ready to share your faith story and pray with others when the opportunity presents itself

Time Commitment

• 3 hours Monday and Wednesday evenings 4:30pm to 7:30pm

• 3 hours Tuesday and Thursday mornings 9:00 AM- 12:00 PM

Qualifications

• Understanding of, and agreement with, the CSC Statement of Faith, Mission and Pursuits (cf https://www.cschurch.ca/central/about/who-we-are/)

• Familiarity with Compassion & Care mission, vision & process
